Our expertise
2M Resources is an undisputed leader in Eastern North America’s glass recycling industry. Since our foundation in 1999, we have acquired in-depth, recognized expertise that sets us apart from our competitors. We specialize in high-quality glass processing, which is essential to supporting the principles of the circular economy.
As a pillar of Quebec’s recycling value chain, our company optimizes resources and minimizes waste at every stage of the process. Our expertise extends beyond the borders of Quebec, in particular to Boston, where our support was required to design a plant capable of processing consignable glass from four American states. This ability to operate beyond Quebec’s borders, importing and processing significant quantities of glass, underscores the crucial role we play in meeting recycling requirements across North America.
Over the years, we have also diversified our services, ever mindful of the need to help our customers make the most of their waste, with a clear commitment to circularity. That’s why for almost 5 years now, 2M Resources has been offering a service for the disposal of expired liquid food products, the contents of which are sent for biomethanization.
Similarly, 2M Resources is the only Nespresso partner in Quebec to process used coffee capsules. All capsule components, from coffee grounds to aluminum, are recycled to their full potential. Much like 2M Resources, Nespresso is committed to sustainability and the environment.
Processing glass, an infinitely recyclable material
Our facilities use advanced technologies and cutting-edge methods, reflecting our commitment to sustainability and innovation. These methods not only guarantee superior quality recycled glass, but also significantly reduce our environmental footprint. Our proactive approach to research and development has kept us on the cutting edge of technology, reinforcing our leadership and clout in the glass recycling industry.
We are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence and constantly strive to innovate and improve our methods. Our ambition not only enables us to meet our customers’ and partners’ high expectations, but also to actively contribute to the advancement of the glass recycling industry. Our aim is to continue pushing the boundaries of technology and innovation, in order to promote a more sustainable future for all.
Disposal of liquid food products
For over 5 years, 2M Resources has been proudly offering its customers an eco-responsible turnkey service for the disposal of their liquid food products, whether the products are expired, of unsatisfactory quality, non-compliant or contain production errors.
By doing business with 2M Resources, our customers can rest assured that the entire product will be recovered: container as well as content. As a proponent of the circular economy, our company is actively committed to recycling the entire container, whether glass, plastic or aluminum, as well as whatever liquid it contains.
2M Resources is one of the only companies in Quebec to dispose of 100% of the liquids recovered from the disposal of these products by sending them to local companies for biomethanization.
In 2023 alone, more than 8,000 metric tons of liquid were sent for biomethanization – that’s more than 3 Olympic-sized swimming pools!
2M Resources handles your expired food product waste:
- responsibly
- in an environmentally responsible manner
- while protecting our water resources
- and helping you achieve your ESG objectives
2M Resources generates value from your liquid waste. Set yourself apart from your competitors by promoting eco-responsible waste management among your customers.
Recycling used Nespresso coffee capsules
Since 2015 the company has been processing used capsules that have been recovered from sorting centers, sent in by mail or dropped off at Quebec stores. 2M Resources’ expertise rests on the use of sophisticated mechanical equipment that efficiently separates the coffee grounds from the aluminum. The grounds are sent to biomethanization facilities, while the aluminum is compressed into bales, ready for sale mainly to American aluminum recyclers. These recyclers transform the recycled aluminum into new aluminum foil, thereby contributing to the circular economy and reducing the ecological footprint.
The coffee grounds are stored until they are biomethanized.
